This number calls me at least once a day but NEVER leave a message. I have no idea who they are. It's always in the morning when I'm at work and I figure if it's that important they can leave a message. I called the number back & instantly got the recording "Please hold for the next available agent". They don't even identify themselves so I've got to think they are some sort of scum, scam or scourge.
I received a bunch of calls from 1 866-850-9040 all in one day with no messages, when I left work I called the # back and it was Ft. Hood National Bank, 1st National Bank of Texas, first community bank all one and the same. They were calling to tell me my acct was over drafted $86 for 3 days. Now since my girlfriend was also a collection agent I asked her what could be done. She informed me that the reason they didn't leave a message is because they're only allowed to leave one message per day and they wanted to speak with me not leave a message and they could call as many times in a day as they wanted. Well I find this to be harassing and as a business owner myself, I think it is a terrible business practice. I called them back and told them I knew the acct. was overdrawn and when I planned to correct it. Then warned them not to call me again unless I didn't follow through with my arrangements and if they did I was going to report their poor business practices to the BBB. Our recommendation to all who receive these phone calls, from any company is to do the same thing as I did and then if they call again and they will, report them to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and to your local chamber of commerce. If you're really pissed like me, you can keep a copy of your bill and send it along with a nasty gram to your local and state government.
